President Maumoon Condemns Israeli Military Interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla

Former President of the Maldives and Chairman of The Maumoon Foundation, H.E. Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, has issued a strong condemnation of the illegal interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla vessels by the Israeli military.

In a statement released today via X, President Maumoon emphasized that the Global Sumud Flotilla represents a peaceful humanitarian effort to deliver essential aid to the Palestinian people, who continue to endure relentless oppression, suffering, and genocide under the Israeli regime.

“The world is watching closely,” President Maumoon noted. “The veil is being lifted, and Israel is being exposed for what it truly is.”

He further called upon the international community to take urgent action to bring an end to the ongoing genocide and to save the Palestinian people from further suffering.

President Maumoon reaffirmed his solidarity with the Palestinian cause and reiterated the Maldives’ long-standing commitment to standing with the people of Palestine in their struggle for justice, dignity, and freedom.
