TMF Leadership Meets with Dato’ Hajeedar Abdul Majid, Renowned Architect of the Islamic Centre
TMF leadership, headed by Vice Chairman Ahmed Faris Maumoon and Executive Committee Member and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Dunya Maumoon, met with Dato’ Hajeedar Abdul Majid, the renowned Malaysian architect of the iconic Islamic Centre of the Maldives.
The meeting took place over dinner at Barcelo Nasandhura Hotel, and was also attended by former Minister of Home Affairs Abdullah Kamaludeen and TMF General Secretary Dr. Ahmed Shareef.
Discussions centered on the historical and cultural significance of the Islamic Centre as one of the nation’s most iconic landmarks. TMF leaders expressed their appreciation for Dato’ Hajeedar’s invaluable contribution to the Maldives through the design of the Islamic Centre, which has stood as a symbol of faith, identity, and unity for generations.
Dato’ Hajeedar is also a member of the Board of Trustees of TMF. He is currently visiting the Maldives, shared insights from his architectural journey and reflected on the enduring legacy of the Islamic Centre, which continues to inspire both Maldivians and visitors alike.
The meeting highlighted TMF’s commitment to preserving and honoring national heritage while fostering dialogue with distinguished figures who have contributed to shaping the Maldives’ cultural and religious landscape.
