Maumoon Foundation and Ministry of Islamic Affairs Sign Memorandum of Understanding
The Maumoon Foundation and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) yesterday at the Maumoon Foundation Office, formalising a framework for mutual cooperation and assistance within their respective areas of work.
The MoU was signed on behalf of The Maumoon Foundation by its Chairman, Al-Ustaz Maumoon Abdul Gayoom (NGIV), and on behalf of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs by Minister Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.
Under this agreement, both parties have agreed to collaborate on planning a project to renovate the Islamic Centre with the aim of ensuring its long-term sustainability. The Maumoon Foundation will work towards securing financial assistance for this project from both local and international sources, in coordination with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.
The MoU also provides for President Maumoon to deliver lectures and speeches at religious events organised by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs at the Islamic Centre. In addition, the Ministry will facilitate public access to religious books authored by President Maumoon by making them available at the Islamic Centre Library.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs will extend support to various religious and social initiatives carried out by The Maumoon Foundation, including assistance in the establishment and development of the Foundation’s digital archive and library.
